Mark Stevenson

Managing Director

Mark founded Bright Spark in 2011 after a decade-long career in construction and consultancy. While working on large-scale building projects, he developed a passion for renewable technologies and their lasting impact on future generations, inspiring him to start the company. Originally an energy consultancy, Bright Spark evolved into a commercial electrical business, specializing in solar PV, LED lighting, and EV charging solutions across various sectors. Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his growing family, watching and playing sport and being outdoors as much as possible. His latest projects include restoring an 18th-century farmhouse, qualifying as an RFU coach and learning to play Tennis.   He has a passion for travel and is currently learning to sail, with the ultimate goal of sailing around the world.

Grant Robinson

Projects and Health & Safety

Grant is responsible for running our projects and health & safety. He loves working within the renewable sector and seeing people and companies save money and generate their own energy. Love working in an exciting industry where innovation never ceases to amaze me. Carbon reduction and reliance on fossil fuels is hugely important for a future in which my children will grow up in.

Outside of work, Grant enjoys travelling, spending time outdoors and will often be found spending any spare time on the beach when weather is good and sun is shining. He can also be found swimming in the sea, kayaking and paddleboarding whenever the opportunity arises!

Ann Turkington

Finance and HR

Ann is our Finance & HR Director for Bright Spark Ventures. She has worked for many years in the construction industry at a senior level, primarily focused on project management, finance and HR. Ann joined Bright Spark in 2023 to support the companies development and growth, and in that time has implemented significant changes and improvements, helping to drive the business forward.

Outside of work, Ann enjoys walking, Marimba dancing, cooking and reading. Ann is an active member of the local Film Society and enjoys most sports but only as a spectator these days.

Saul Thomas

Technical Director

 Saul is our guru for all things technical with over 15 years of electrical experience in residential, commercial and industrial.  He has led on the installation of over 200 solar PV and battery storage systems as well as major electrical infrastructure projects in schools, hospitals and commercial buildings.

Outside of work, Saul is fond of the finer things in life, harbouring an impressive knowledge of French and some select German fine wines.   He is well regarded by all as an enthusiast and a lover of Greek literature, the complete works of Shakespeare and gourmet cheese.

Olly Martin

Electrical and Solar Engineer

Olly forms part of our installation team and takes pride in his work and feels it is reflected in nice aesthetics. Outside of work, Olly likes to live life to its fullest, as there’s never a dull day in Devon! Olly enjoys travelling, surfing and snowboarding, amongst other things like BBQ’s on the beach and weekend trips away with friends. He’s recently welcomed a baby into his life and couldn’t be happier about it.


Michael Farrelly

Sales and Project Management

Michael joined Bright Spark in 2023 as a Graduate Trainee and is now part of our Sales and Design team. You will find Michael out and about on site visits, designing systems and helping with the management of projects. Outside of work, Michael is very passionate about music, being an avid fan of a wide variety of genres spanning from the 1960’s right up to the present which is reflected in his collection of vinyl records. Most weeks you will find him at concerts across the UK, with him attending over 100 concerts in the last five years!

Matilda Cretney

Installations Coordinator

In her role as Installations Coordinator, Matilda is responsible for organising and running projects from start to finish. Once a quote has been accepted, Matilda is the point of contact for customers and clients. Outside of work, Matilda enjoys swimming and spending quality time with her partner, family and friends.
